Hello to all in theYouth Leader Network

DSC_0045_2We are all disappointed  that our last  NS gathering day (June 8th) had to be cancelled. A small planning team did meet, (Susan Chisholm, Shannon MacLean and Pix Butt) to talk about plans for the Fall.

We want you to know about 2 exciting events coming up in October.

Oct 4-6 at Tatamagouche Centre – Boldly Go! Check out the web site for details. www.tatacentre.ca   How do you initiate and support effective youth-in-mission programs within local communities? Drawing on insights gained from The GO Project and other outreach programs, we will examine the building blocks which create exciting, sustainable and meaningful locally-based programs

Oct 24-26 in Halifax – “Behold!” 2013. This event has a Youth Day on the Saturday. This  is a national conference featuring elements of the rich and diverse histories and cultures of the Maritimes, with opportunities for all ages and cultural backgrounds. Interculturalism is about all kinds of difference including age, gender identity, racial identity, ethnicity, ability, ideas, and beliefs. To be intercultural is to effectively engage with all communities of difference. (check the web for full details www.united-church.ca/behold )

Mark the dates – talk with your groups – and we’ll be back in touch in September so those planning to go can get connected.

The planning team will meet again in September to set dates for a January and April day together.
