Halifax Pride Parade: “All God’s Children Have a Place in the Choir”
July 27, 2013: This is the theme for The United Church of Canada Affirming Float this year in Pride. All UCC’s are invited to walk. Wear something rainbow-ish and come with water and enthusiasm.
Halifax Presbytery has assisted in sponsoring the float. It truly is a United Church event.
We have an 18-wheeler truck if people want a ride, and in addition people will be walking. We are officially Position 51 in the Parade (important to remember when people show up). The point to marshal is the DND dockyard (entrance on the corner of Barrington and North Streets), and there is parking at the north end of the lot–as well as two portable washrooms.
Marshalling time is 10-12am (No entries allowed after 12), and the parade starts at 1.30pm on July 27th. We march along Barrington St. to Spring Garden Road, and then turn right on South Park Street until reaching Bell Road.
ALL are invited to participate in this parade–the 25th anniversary of the Pride Parade. For further information contact John Kirk at firstname.lastname@example.org
