Biography of the Gest Speaker: The Rev. Dr. Glen Davis

Glen was appointed as the first General Secretary of the newly formed Life and Mission Agency. After 5 more years of mainly administrative work, he felt it was time to return to his first love – pastoral ministry. He and Joyce were called to serve as co-ministers at Knox Presbyterian Church, Agincourt (Toronto) where they spent seven wonderful years in team ministry. In 2000 he was deeply honoured to be elected Moderator of the General Assembly and to receive an honourary D.D. from Presbyterian
College, Montreal.

After “retirement” in 2003, Glen did some mission consulting in Japan and then some interim ministry in Uxbridge, ON. In 2006 he was asked to serve as Presbyterian Director of Denominational Formation at the Vancouver School of Theology/St. Andrew’s Hall. After five stimulating years working with students preparing for ministry he has retired (again)! He nad Joyce come to Cape Breton every summer where Glen does some part time ministry, most recently with with St. Andrew’s Church in North River. It seems that retirement is a course he has failed so far, but he loves keeping busy in whatever work God seems to place before him.

Glen and Joyce live in Vancouver where their two sons and four of their 7 grandchildren live. Their daughter and her three children live in St. John’s, NL.
