2. Conversations that Matter!

At the Annual Meeting of Conference we will once again “open space” for important conversations.  Five years ago we tried this for the first time.  Over 70 topics were posted for engaging during the day.  People shared their ideas and passions  in conversations such as:

  • Ecumenism
  • Better Rural Public Transportation
  • Welcoming Youth and Young Families
  • Out of Our Bulidings Into the Community
  • Progressive Christianity – A Maritime Network
  • Giving Youth a Voice
  • Are We Forgetting the Basics: prayer and forgiveness?

… and so many more!

Many of these conversations led to bold actions – such as Maritime Conference becoming an Affirming Ministry!

You will find your invitation and more information about Open Space Technology on the Conference website with the materials for this year’s Annual Meeting.  What conversation is burning in your heart?

7. STROLL FOR YOUR SOUL. A Daily Email Program from the Prayer Bench.

Stroll for Your Soul offers 21 days of accompaniment through a brief email delivered early each morning to your inbox. Each email will offer a practice, or a reflection, or a poem, or a photograph giving direction and encouragement to your time spent walking or jogging or biking or even skateboarding. It takes 21 days to create a habit. Use these daily emails as motivation to get outside. If you are a regular walker, they offer practice at paying attention and being in the present moment. Give yourself 21 days and make it a habit. Beyond motivation, these emails help connect us with the Universe Story. We find hope and courage in this old, old 13.7 billion year story.

WHEN: Begins with a welcome email on April 27 and daily emails received each day from May 1- 21.

COSTCONGREGATIONS: Sign up a congregation for $50. That’s $5 per person if you gather a group of 10 people.  See this webpage for details:   And if you have less than 10 people, please contact me to pay $5 (x) however many you have signed up.

INDIVIDUAL  $15 or sign up with a friend for $8 each. See this webpage for details:
