1. Condolences – Eleanor Snyder

 

Our deepest sympathy and prayers are extended to the Rev. Fred Snyder and his family on the death of his mother, Eleanor Snyder, who passed away on June 8, 2016, at the age of 93, in Waterloo, Ontario.

Have you heard the expression that, “charity starts at home?”  Well I have an M&S Resource to share that tells the story of how M&S dollars are spent here at home – In Maritime Conference.  (See attached “Generosity for Mission brochure”)

For those who attended Conference … you may recall I highlighted it there.

This two sided brochure folds in the middle and makes for a great bulletin insert.  Would you consider printing and using it some Sunday?  Perhaps highlight it as a Minute for Mission … or use it with the attached short drama to lift up our ministry together as the United Church of Canada.

4. Survey to Take a Snapshot of United Church Artifacts

 

The United Church of Canada’s Archives and History Committee is launching a special project to develop a national strategy for the preservation of artifacts held by United Church congregations. The first step in the process is to survey congregations to identify issues and to create an initial inventory of the quantity, condition, and significance of artifacts that exist. The information collected in this survey will be reviewed by the Archives and History Committee of the General Council at their annual meeting in September, 2016.

For the purpose of this survey, artifacts are defined as moveable heritage objects that are easily “detachable” and can be transported from place to place. Artifacts can include furnishings, liturgical art, utensils, adornments, and stained glass windows.

To participate in this survey we would ask that one person (or committee) from your congregation complete the following online survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/F687J7C.

The deadline for completing the survey is June 30, 2016.

5. Deadline for Evaluation Forms – Today .. June 15th

 

Evaluation Forms for the Conference Annual Meeting are available online at https://ucceast.ca/evaluation-form-2016/ and should be submitted no later than today – June 15th.
