2. Public Performance Copyright Site Licenses
This is the eleventh year that Maritime Conference has negotiated a public performance copyright site license agreement with Criterion Pictures and Audio Ciné Films Inc. We are able to offer a similar opportunity this year. You may wish to visit their respective websites for further information: http://www.criterionpic.com/ and http://www.acf-film.com/splash_en.php
The combined cost for both companies to cover congregations in Maritime Conference will be $1.30 per person plus HST based on average Sunday attendance as reported in The United Church of Canada Year Book & Directory – Volume 1 Statistics. The license will be in effect from April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2018.
Please complete the application form if you are interested in registering your congregation for this license and forward it to Maritime Conference Office along with a cheque made payable to Maritime Conference Fund by Monday, March 13, 2017. This is the ONLY opportunity to enroll for this year!
If you have any questions about this program, please contact Lorraine Horyl by email or by phone 506-536-1334, Ext 5.

5. Staff Sabbatical
Executive Secretary David Hewitt will be taking a partial sabbatical between February 22 and April 11. If you have matters for the Executive Secretary that can wait until after April 11, please continue to leave messages for David by voicemail or email. If your matter requires a more immediate response, please contact Kendall. Please bear in mind that Kendall will continue to attend to his regular personnel work during this time which will be reflected in his response time.
David’s sabbatical will involve some reading and writing, a week of French immersion in Quebec City, and the 10-day Mission and Service pilgrimage to Kenya.

7. CONSIDERING SPONSORING ANOTHER REFUGEE?
There have been many recent calls and emails with questions from groups about additional refugee sponsorships, perhaps for family members of newcomers or other associated people. In addition, some groups continue to wait for news of their applications. So we have crafted an overview.
