5. Two New Programs for Advent from the Prayer Bench and an Update

We are on the path to Advent. Here are two new programs to support your planning:

Being in Community: A Small Group Study

This small group study offers an intentional pause for a group wanting to strengthen trust and confidence in one another and in the journey of faith unfolding among them. Using “Theory U” and three scripture stories, audio reflections, and discussion questions, the study offers a chance to share stories, refresh listening skills and deepen spiritual practices for leaning into an emerging future together. Learn more here:

Personal Email Retreat: Advent EntryWays

Advent is for getting ready. It’s a time for intention, for looking with curiosity in the bare and wild places, for gathering up the beautiful strands of our courage, and celebrating our own personal “yes” as we prepare for Christmas. These email retreats, based on four of the lectionary readings (RCL) for Advent, invite you to make space in a hectic time, and consider four EntryWays while crossing Advent’s threshold into Christmas. Perfect for personal reflection or worship preparation in Advent. Begins Saturday, November 25. Learn more here:

The Praying the News Small Group Study now has a study guide with Advent editions. How do we hold together the Good News message of Advent alongside the news of the day?  Please see:

6. Giving Program Survey and Resources

Dear Delegates,

Warm Greetings!

I am contacting you at this time to ask those of you whose charges have used any part(s) of our three Giving programs (“Called to be the Church” 2015, “Salt & Light” 2016, and “We Sing Thanksgiving” 2017) to please give us a little time, and some very important information, by filling out a brief survey.   Would you?  Please????

The purpose of the survey is twofold – to hear about successful practices and to offer constructive comment to improve the resource.

Please click on the following link:   Giving Program Survey to start.

Feel free to share the link with any individuals who might be open to contributing.

Thank you so much in advance for participating!  For those who have not yet used these resources, but who are interested in learning more about them, or any of our excellent Stewardship resources, please e-mail or call me.
