2. Conference Annual Meeting reports and other documentation
(CAM announcement #2)
The link for Conference Annual Meeting (CAM) materials is live and available. As reports and other items become available, they will be posted immediately. Please check back often for new items.
The deadline for including reports in the Conference materials is March 30. Once we are confident that we have all of the necessary information, all of the individual items will be combined into a single, large, downloadable PDF workbook. One hardcopy of the workbook will also be provided to each table group at the CAM.
Proposals to the Conference Annual Meeting
Proposals are one way for one court of the church to speak formally and officially to another court of the church. In the context of a Conference Annual Meeting, this may mean several things:
- A Pastoral Charge or Presbytery/Synod wants to ask something of Conference; or
- A Pastoral Charge or Presbytery/Synod wants to ask something of General Council; or
- Conference wants to ask something of General Council.
The deadline for submitting Proposals for consideration by the Conference Annual Meeting is March 30.
If you have an idea about a Proposal, please send an early draft to the Executive Secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org. Assistance will be given in terms of preparation and wording.
3. #TrueStory: Invitation to Table Group Facilitators, 93rd Annual Meeting of Maritime Conference
I’m writing to the members of Maritime Conference with an invitation on behalf of the Annual Meeting 2018 Planning Committee.
To say that The United Church of Canada and the Maritime Conference are moving through days of change and challenge is an understatement. The 93rd Annual Meeting of Maritime Conference will quite possibly be our last meeting in our current shape and structure. Although detailed information related to our future is unavailable at this time, the Annual Meeting Planning Committee is working to create an agenda that allows significant time for discussion, reflection and discernment. Most importantly, we will take time to celebrate the story of Maritime Conference as we have been and as we may become: #TrueStory.
If you are willing to volunteer or if you’d like to know more about this opportunity, please contact Robyn Brown-Hewitt at email@example.com by March 30th.
