2. Video Licensing Registration Information
EDGE is pleased to offer you the opportunity to obtain a Public Performance Video License at great cost savings of between $125-$150 for your church! We have negotiated a video licensing agreement with Criterion Pictures and Audio Cine Films (ACF) Inc. who represent most of the major distributors including Paramount, Universal, Alliance Atlantis, New Line Cinema, Miramax, Disney, Veggie Tales and many, many more!
You need a public performance license if you show movies or clips from movies/TV programs for public viewing during programming or worship or fundraising (unless you are showing ‘live-fee’ YouTube material). Without a public performance license you are breaking current copyright laws.
The combined cost for the public performance license is $1.50 per person plus HST based on average Sunday attendance as reported on the 2017 Statistical Return Forms filed with the United Church of Canada. The license will be effective from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019.
Please click here for more information on the video licensing program and how to register:
The registration forms can be found below:
All applications are to be returned to the General Council office as soon as you can. Please be sure it is in the mail prior to Friday, December 7th, 2018.
3. Camp Wegesegum Update and Campaign
Hello Camp Wegesegum Alumni and Supporters !
We are pleased to give an update for you on your beloved Camp Wegesegum! As well, we are busy preparing to do some much needed upgrades to the Camp in the Spring – we applied and will receive a matching Camp Grant from The United Church of Canada when work is completed to get us started. The outline of our campaign is included in the donor letter below. As we move toward Christmas, the season of gifting, we ask you to consider a donation. If your budget is done for 2018, we will be actively seeking to meet our goal of $15,000.00 in 2019 when the snow melts. Remember your memories of camp and help us create opportunity for children in 2019 and beyond.
May you experience a meaningful Advent and be blessed with the joy of gatherings with loved ones and the best of health!
Rev. Betty-Jean Friedman
Board of Directors – Camp Wegesegum
