TO: ALL TRUSTEES, TREASURERS, REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES and MINISTRY PERSONNEL and/or SUPERVISORS of COMMUNITIES OF FAITH in NOVA SCOTIA
The Regional Council of Region 15 is developing policies and procedures relating to property matters and is creating a HANDBOOK FOR COMMUNITIES OF FAITH.
It is anticipated that the HANDBOOK will be approved and distributed in October, 2019.
The Property Committee of Region 15 is planning to host a series of Workshops to be held in various locations in Nova Scotia to review the policies and procedures relating to property matters and to answer questions from those attending.
If your Community of Faith has any plans for the purchasing, selling, leasing or renovating of any church property, then you should plan to attend one of the Workshops.
A schedule of dates and locations for the Workshops will be issued as soon as the Handbook is finalized.
United Network for Justice and Peace for Palestine/Israel
Join the United Network for Justice and Peace for Palestine/Israel in Ottawa Sept. 13-15 for the UNJPPI National Gathering: Imagining the Way of Justice – Taking Action.
People from across Canada will be joining together to learn and to encourage one another in our work. One of our speakers is Libby Davies, former NDP Member of Parliament. She will be talking to us about what blocks politicians from taking stronger action.
She has just written a book, “Outside In”. It has a chapter about her experience around Palestine as well as a chapter on action for transformation. In the chapter “Back to Third” she muses on how progressive politicians and activists can work together.
