Covenanting Service for Rev. Dr. Christine Marie Gladu, the Kingston Pastoral Charge and Region 15

A covenanting service for the Rev. Dr. Christine Marie Gladu and the Kingston Pastoral Charge will be held at Kingston United church on Sunday, September 22, at 3:00 pm.

The presider will be Ms. Janet Sollows, President of Region 15.  The preacher will be the Rev. Don Sellsted of Orchard Valley United Church.  Please come out to support this new ministry and welcome Christine Marie to Region 15 and the Valley.


Celtic Covenanting Service between Reverend Heather Wright, United Heritage United Church and Region 15

A Celtic Covenanting Service between Reverend Heather Wright, United Heritage United Church and Region 15 will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 1:00 pm at United Heritage United Church, 500 Charlotte Street, Sydney.  A reception will follow the service.  All are welcome to attend.


United Church Chaplaincy at Dalhousie University Multifaith Services will be designated an Affirming Ministry

On Wednesday, October 16th, the United Church Chaplaincy at Dalhousie University Multifaith Services will be designated an Affirming Ministry — this will be the first university UCC chaplaincy in Canada to be designated Affirming!

A Celebration including a ceremony, music, mingling and munchies will be held at 7:00 p.m. in Room 303 of the Dalhousie Student Union Building. A service of worship celebrating the covenant service between Rev. Sarah Reaburn, Rockingham Pastoral Charge, and Region 15 will take place on Sunday, October 20 at 4:00 p.m. at Rockingham United Church, 12 Flamingo Drive, Halifax, with a time of greeting to follow the service.

Contemplative Pathways

You are invited to Tending your Contemplative Heart:  Living into the Pause.  A time to slow down, a time to break routine, a time to be nurtured, a time to pause… October 21-23, 2019 (Begins Monday at 2:30, ending Wednesday at 2 pm) at Tatamagouche Centre.
This retreat will support those who are following the contemplative path as well as those who are drawn to it. With guiding presentations by leaders Kathy Roy and Bethe Benjamin Cameron and with spaciousness for reflection and silence, you will be invited into the “pause” that brings refreshment for the soul.  For more information and to register: Click here


Healthy Boundaries for Religious leaders

Gibson United Church, Fredericton, NB, October 23, 2019, 9-4:30 pm
Healthy Boundaries for Religious Leaders is open to ministry personnel, licensed lay Worship leaders and lay people. This course meets the United Church requirements for mandatory boundary training (introductory and refresher). It will be led by Rev. Dr. Andrew Richardson (Office of Vocation Minister ) and Annika Sangster minister at St. Luke’s (Tantallon, NS) and a consultant for the United Church Sexual Misconduct Policy.
