Covenanting Service for Reverend Ian Harrison with the St. Ann’s Bay Pastoral Charge and Regional Council 15 will be held on Sunday, March 29th, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Ann’s Bay United Church, 46715 Cabot Trail Road, Indian Brook, N.S.  All are welcome.


Emergency Plan to Assist Regions and Congregations to be Prepared in the Event of a Health Emergency.

The United Church of Canada has updated its emergency plan to assist Regions and Congregations to be prepared in the event of a health emergency.  This is not meant to cause fear but to help us be prepared, and we ask that you review the attached document.  Guidelines for Communities of Faith start on page 10 of this document.  The Executive Minister, Faith March-MacCuish is the Primary conduit of information between the General Council, the committees and the communities of Faith.  The Emergency Coordinator for the Sackville Regional Council Office is Tracey Rose and she will be person who will send out communication to the Regions.  If you have any questions please be in touch with Rev. faith March-MacCuish fmaccuish@united-church.ca or 1-800-268-3781 ext 6156.


Making Hope Visible – Podcast Launched!

“Making Hope Visible: Conversations about Justice, Faith, and Action” is a bi-weekly podcast hosted by Laura Hunter, Minister for Justice and Mission serving the Atlantic Regions of the United Church of Canada.  It will feature leaders, activists, practitioners who share their journeys in faith and justice.  You will meet people behind the projects that are making a difference in their communities.  You will hear your neighbours and friends reflect on spiritual practices best practices that support their work in justice, mission and outreach.  A new episode will be released every 2 weeks.  Check out the first episodes now, and subscribe so you don’t miss an episode!


Palestine Land Exercise

The Palestine Land Exercise is a participatory reenactment of Israel/Palestine history designed to help participants understand the history and current context of Palestine and Israel. The 60-70 minute Exercise involves participants reading scripts and experiencing the story as Palestinians followed by a 30-40 minute talking/sharing circle to integrate what has been learned and consider follow-up activities to foster a just peace in the Holy Land.   This session is free and open to the public. There are 30 spaces available so please contact Sandra Hennigar at 902-497-0953 if you wish to reserve a space.

Faithful Footprints Workshop

Does your green team or building committee need some advice about how to improve your congregation’s buildings in the future? If so, this workshop is the perfect place to learn about all the provincial and national energy efficiency/ renewable energy programs that can help your faith-based institution. Ben Grieder, the Efficiency Projects Coordinator from the Ecology Action Centre will be presenting some information and hand’s on activities to help everyone understand what resources can be used to get a retrofit building project completed. Beverages and snacks will be provided.
