Intermediates at Conference Meeting a New Way – Stay Tuned for Details
As a community we recognize the responsibility to care for each other. Our participants well being is our main priority and with that, we are adhering to the Department of Health’s mandate of social distancing to reduce any potential spread. This sadly means the cancellation of our face-to-face I@C gathering but we will meet in a new way! Our theme this year is “Building Communities” though we may be limited to the boundaries of our homes, we encourage all of you to ask yourself what community means and how you can help your community within these unprecedented boundaries that we are all facing. Information regarding how we will gather will be shared with everyone soon… stay tuned!
Youth Forum Meeting a New Way – VIRTUAL YF
Because we are not sure how the world will look in May, this year we are offering Youth Forum online for the FIRST TIME EVER!! Our theme is Believing is Seeing. We will explore the subjects of social media and faith. We will look at our perception of ourselves and the difference between what we show online and who we really are. As well we will look at social justice in isolation, and hanging on tight to faith in a changing world. Our format is still in development but will include large and small group meeting through an online meeting platform. If you need help getting to a computer, contact your local United Church Minister. Your from all over Canada are invited to join us in this celebration of faith! Participation in our online youth forum will cost $20. If you have already paid for the full weekend Jenn Whittemore will be in touch with you to process your refund. See You Soon! Nathan And Alex

AST – Convocation Update
The Senate has decided to cancel this year’s Convocation in keeping with current public safety directives and to ensure the safety of the AST community and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, we are not alone in having to reach this conclusion. Many other universities in Nova Scotia and across Canada have had to make similar difficult decisions. While we are resolute in following the advice of our public health authorities and doing our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we appreciate that the cancellation of Convocation will be disappointing to our graduating students and their families. Those students will be invited to be celebrated alongside next year’s graduating class at the convocation on May 8, 2021. It is also important for me to share with you that, for the same reasons, the Board of Governors has decided to postpone our annual Gala Dinner indefinitely.
You are invited to a Zoom Workshop for Church Meetings.
Join staff from the Centre for Christian Studies Tuesday April 7th at 11am Central as they share their tips and tricks for working on Zoom. With its distance education model and a dispersed staff team, CCS uses Zoom for staff meetings, student check-ins, field orientations, governance meetings and learning circles. We’ve learned lots over the last few years about how to effectively worship, work and learn together. Please register in advance (no fee, donations gratefully accepted), and join us to imagine church differently. Register in advance for this meeting: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/uJUqcemupzkjY27Zxkr-JGf7hHQ_WQcXPA
