First Dawn Eastern Edge Regional Council of The United Church of Canada invites you in honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day. Let’s all take this opportunity to build a better understanding of indigenous culture and remember the history. We remember the Beothuk, whose culture has been lost forever and can never be recovered. We also acknowledge the Mi’kmaq on the island of Newfoundland. And in Labrador, the Innu of Nitassinan, the Inuit of Nunatsiavut, and the Inuit of NunatuKavut.
I encourage everyone to take part in honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day through special online events on Monday, June 21. Just search and join in!
