Rethinking Preaching” Conference 2021 – How Has the Pandemic Challenged Preaching?

Emmanuel College’s Centre for Religion and Its Contexts is hosting the “Rethinking Preaching” Conference 2021–How Has the Pandemic Challenged Preaching? on August 20-21. We are pleased to invite seasoned and new preachers, students of homiletics and participants who seek to “rethink preaching” by examining and exploring issues that are directly challenged in the wake of social issues that have intensified during this global COVID moment. Our keynote speakers, Prof. Frank Thomas (Christian Theological Seminary) and Prof. Carolyn Helsel (Austin Theological Seminary), and 10 experienced workshop leaders will help us explore the changing contexts of preaching. Visit the conference’s web page for a full description, registration details and schedule.

Centennial Celebrations Committee

The United Church will soon be 100 years old! We are looking for a small group who can help the church shape its celebrations.

The Centennial Celebrations Committee will assist in architecting the scope of the denominational celebration for the 100th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada in 2025. This committee will work in collaboration with General Council Staff to identify a variety of opportunities and methods to celebrate this anniversary. Read further details here.
