Rev. Tony Ware – Memorial Service
A memorial service to celebrate the life of the Rev. Anthony Ware will be held Saturday, October 9, 10:30 a.m. at Spring Park United Church in Charlottetown. Tony’s life was a blessing to so many of us and we would be honoured if you could join us in person or virtually. A life lived so beautifully deserves to be beautifully remembered. Position Available – Minister for Justice, Mission and Outreach
The Regional Councils of Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters, Region 15 and First Dawn Eastern Edge are seeking an individual to fill the role of Minister for Justice, Mission and Outreach. Are you feeling called to work with the members in the three eastern Regions? Maybe you know of someone who might need a little nudge?
This is a permanent full-time position (35 hours/week) shared equally among the three regions. Interested applicants are invited to submit their resume to careers@united-church.ca quoting the job number 21-41. Closing date is October 19, 2021.

Emmanuel College – Fall Events
Emmanuel College’s Centre for Religion and Its Contexts (CRIC) is offering a rich and varied roster of events over the fall, including a panel discussion on Transgender Theologies and Activism, two book launches, a conversation on the history of Home Missions, and a series of seminars (continuing into winter 2022), Things They Didn’t Teach Me in Seminary. NEW MEMOIR Called! A Longshot’s Story by the Rev. Dr. Gordon Postill
This delayed coming-of-age story intimately recounts Gordon Postill’s life from 1970-1980, a decade that pivotally shapes how the rest of his life will unfold. Initially a story of failure, self-loathing, addiction, and deceit, it’s ultimately a story of grace, faith, hope, and transformation. Gordon graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Emmanuel College, Toronto in May 1980 and later that month was ordained by the Toronto Conference of the United Church of Canada. He served congregations in Nova Scotia and Ontario before spending the last twenty-four years of his ministry providing spiritual care to hospice patients and their families in Florida and Massachusetts.
