If so, the Presbyterian Witness newspaper of October 26, 1889 has you covered! This was a newspaper published in Halifax up until 1925 and it covered a wide variety of topics besides Presbyterian news. This particular edition of the paper not only includes some of the above mentioned recipes but also covers topics as varied as how the Princess of Wales dressed her daughter, facts about tigers, and how many barrels of oysters were shipped from Summerside, PE by steamer to Pointe-du-Chêne in the week ending the 6th (1108).
