We are pleased at First Dawn Eastern Edge Regional Council Office in St. John’s to be hiring two youth this summer to work in our Office, Bookstore and Archives. We were successful in receiving a Canada Summer Jobs grant from Service Canada as well as funding from the Regional Council Archives. The two positions are for 8-week duration (Monday-Thursday 8:30 am-4 pm and Fridays 8:30 am -noon) beginning as early as Monday, June 26 ending as late as Friday, August 25, 2023

What youth participants are eligible?
In order to be eligible this year, the youth must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of the employment;
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
  • be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

*As per Canada Summer Jobs regulations, international students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
