Faith Formation and Education Committee

 

Mandate:
To encourage faith development and spiritual growth in individuals and communities of faith; and to support special ministries in our region including, but not limited to, camping, youth ministries, Tatamagouche Center.

 

Responsibilities:
a) To recognize areas in need of Faith Formation and Education within the region and develop/discover types of ministry or programming to fulfil those needs; 
b) Providing information and promoting learning opportunities within the wider church; 
c) Encourage learning events for communities of faith, lay leaders, and clergy; 
d) Identify learning opportunities and share with other communities of faith; 
e) Encourage development and production of webinar learning events on new roles within the region; 
f) Encourage networking between communities of faith for learning; and 
g) Provide learning opportunities for children, youth, and young adults in consultation with the Regional Minister for Children, Youth, and Young Adults who is an ex officio member of the committee.
h)
Provide oversight of the Outdoor Recreational Ministries (ORM) sub-group for camping ministries, with one member of ORM to serve as a member of the committee.

 

Composition:
A steering group of eight people from various parts of the region with half appointed for a two year term and the other half for a three year term. The group may be able to meet by conference call rather than a face-to-face meeting to brain storm on ideas on how to carry out their mandate.
