The “Access to Justice” initiative focuses on the need for improving access to justice for those without sufficient economic means to engage a lawyer, through a strategic campaign of communication to provincial and federal governments, beginning in the Province of New Brunswick.

The initiative was approved by the 85th Annual Meeting of Maritime Conference in May 2010, which passed a proposal from Woolastook Presbytery.

The Working Group is pursuing the campaign by engaging United Church presbyteries and congregations and by networking with other religious denominations and with community organizations.
