The new Maritime Conference Centre was a busy spot last week hosting groups as diverse as a local Naturalist Club to Chignecto Presbytery.
The Conference Executive met on the weekend. A report will soon be posted on-line but we wanted to share the Report from Bermuda Synod.
How did Bermuda Synod come to be part of Maritime Conference? Because of Commonwealth relations and the the American Revolution, the Methodist Church in Bermuda forged closer relationships with the Methodist Church in Canada than the USA. After Union in 1925, the Wesleyan Methodist Synod of Bermuda negotiated a relationship with the United Church of Canada in 1930.
Here is the chair of Bermuda Synod, David Atwood, sharing news from Bermuda Synod.
We will post Reports from other Presbyteries who reported to this Executive over the next few weeks.
In the Maritime Conference Centre this week we welcomed Sackville United Church here for a potluck supper and programme. The Financial Services Unit met yesterday. Local Arrangements is coming tomorrow to plan the details of the Annual Meeting.
Check out the “Fill the People” part of the Financial Campaign. It celebrates the common space of our common place.
