Here is an invitation from Queen Square Methodist Church (later to become part of Centenary-Queen Square United Church, Saint John, NB) to a Thanksgiving service on October 6, 1879. The card was addressed for a George A. Henderson, police clerk. Interestingly enough, the sentence “Their joy is in their calm” was written in pencil on the front of the envelope. Perhaps a good reminder for the Thanksgiving weekend.
