Whether it is a regular gathering of people coming together to craft on similar projects like quilting, or prayer shawls, or crafters who work on diverse crafting in the same room, the conversation, stories, prayers and needs of people are becoming the tapestry in every stitch, or whatever is being done. Special seasonal opportunities to bring in a teacher to share a new project learning, followed by time to create together might offer a special single session opportunity or short series. Explore what people like to do in your context, and who is willing to share their skills? Does someone know how to do origami paper folding? You might make doves to decorate a tree or other display. Combine found nature collections to create outdoor pot displays with a person who works with natural elements. Invite a potter to help make a project or a photographer or painter or other artist. Check locally for people who have crafts to share. Makers and menders might offer specific practical skills from learn to knit and crochet to simple sewing tasks like sewing on a button, repairing small rips, hemming. Get imaginative crafts could extend to food with homemade creativity.
