Your print Gifts with Vision catalogue is to be mailed out this week. Kathie Murphy, at the United Church Foundation highlights:
twelve gifts are featured in the print mailed out catalogue. All 25 gifts are available on the Gifts with Vision website. This year’s gifts are the same as last year’s. UCWs will get three print catalogues and communities of faith will get three print catalogues.
Anybody who wants more – congregation, UCW, or individual person – can get as many as they need by emailing giftswithvision@united-church.ca or calling 1-844-715-7969. Use these same contacts to get assistance with placing orders.
As part of your stewardship, continue to celebrate all the ways people give of time, talent, treasure, and how generosity is impacting and making a difference. Share who is using your buildings, how people are reaching out supporting causes and events, linking with community partners. You might consider celebrating in Advent reporting on how your community of faith is sharing hope, peace, joy and love throughout the year. Be creative. Create video, a photo slide deck, a song, a skit, a handout. Be sure to include on website, in newsletters, PowerPoints and social media.
This Week’s Stewardship Second:
Words matter. As do actions. We are challenged to match our actions and our words. If we speak out against injustice, then we act to bring justice to pass. If we call out for peace, then we work for peace for all people. If we recognize the needs around us, then we generously share.
