A spirit of friendly rivalry has been engendered

I don’t know, perhaps I’m the only person who finds it an interesting topic but I’ve always been fascinated by reports and photographs of church sports teams, especially those pre-1925. The following is a report from St. Andrew’s Kirk Badminton Club circa 1915 (later became part of St. Andrew’s and St. David’s United Church in Saint John, NB). Even during this early time period they allowed women to be members of the club. Sounds like a fun way to spend a Monday or Tuesday evening. Now if only I could find a picture of the outfits they would wear to games…
