40th Anniversary of the UCC Apology to Indigenous Peoples

As we approach the 40th anniversary of the 1986 Apology, we invite United Church congregations into a season of prayerful reflection, learning and faithful action. We respectfully urge congregations to consider reciting the 1986 Apology together on Sunday, October 4, 2026 instead of or in response to a Land Acknowledgement. We also respectfully urge you to prayerfully determine an action you might take perhaps beginning with having an annual “Pay Rent Service “ in which you symbolically collect money to support an Indigenous organization(s) in your area in recognition that you are on Indigenous land. Taking such small and bigger reconciliation actions are an important demonstration of our UCC commitment to a Just Relationship with Indigenous Peoples.

Inventions of Summer

Inventions of Summer is a simple, creative, theologically rich companion for a Summer Sabbath or Worship Series; it is a four-week, ready-to-use program with four different themes, read more about it here.  The Region has purchased a license from Prayer Bench and want to offer this resource as a gift to support worship leaders and communities of faith in their ministry; therefore, there is no cost to receive the resource materials.  Please sign-up for access to this resource using this link.

Part-time minister position

The Upper Stewiacke-Springside pastoral charge is seeking a part‑time minister (6–8 hrs/week) to offer monthly worship—either in person or remotely—along with pastoral care and creative community outreach. Our small rural congregation has strong lay leadership, a simplified governance model, and a deep commitment to flexible, hybrid ministry. This role is ideal for someone who values relational ministry, innovative approaches to worship, and the opportunity to help shape a compassionate, community‑focused presence in Upper Stewiacke -Springside and surrounding areas.
Interested applicants can find our profile on ChurchHub or by emailing search.ussuc@gmail.com.

Annual Pastoral Charge Information Form 2026 and Annual Report 2025

There are still some pastoral charges that have not submitted the Annual Pastoral Charge Information Form and/or the Annual Report for 2025.  We ask that these are submitted as soon as possible after your 2026 annual meeting.  The Pastoral Charge Information Form updates the Region with the names and contact information of your current leadership and regional council representatives (elected members).  If you have already submitted your form and Annual Report, there is no need to resubmit it.  If you have any issues with completing the form, or if you are not sure if you have already submitted it, please contact Shari Kaster, 506-306-0496.

The Annual Report can be emailed to bns@united-church.ca.  If you are unable to submit by email, please mail one copy to:
Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council
21 Wright Street
Sackville NB  E4L 4P8
If you have already submitted your Annual Report, there is no need to resend.
