The First Dawn Eastern Edge Regional Council Marriage Policy indicates that all ordained ministers in good standing and who are retired and not currently serving a Pastoral Charge, may hold permanent marriage license registration in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Region follows up annually to confirm the wishes of clergy to retain marriage licenses through completion of this form.
If you are an ordained minister who is retired and not currently serving a Pastoral Charge, but you wish to retain a license to marry for the coming year, please complete the Request to Retain a License to Marry form below. This form must be completed by December 5 each year. If you prefer to not complete the application for the year or have missed the deadline, you may make a request for a license at any time.
