December 15, 2020

For the upcoming renewal of the 2021 blanket insurance policy, we are reminding all Communities of Faith/Incorporated Ministries to please check your current insurance assessments. If there are any properties that have been sold (approved by Regional Council and sold) or properties purchased or extensions built during 2020, it is imperative that Steers Insurance are made aware of these changes as soon as possible to make sure your premiums are accurate for your needs.

For your information, if you do not inform Steers Insurance of sales, the annual assessment will be processed for the 2021 calendar year. This means that if you inform Steers Insurance of the sale of a property after the 2021 assessments have been processed, the return premium that you will receive will be based only on building and contents. The premium for Commercial General Liability (CGL), Crime and Abuse Liability cannot be returned and your Community of Faith will have to pay the balance on those items mentioned above. To avoid these premium charges upon renewal in 2021, please advise Steers Insurance immediately of any property sale.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Alison Piercey, Office Administrator at apiercey@united-church.ca or 1-800-268-3781, ext. 6139.
