Daily Devotional for Lent
Daily Devotional for Lent
Give us this day our daily bread.
Hunger is inevitable in this world. Christ knows that his followers will always remain hungry until all are fed. Perhaps this is why Christ comes to us as the bread of life, and Christ’s followers gather around a table.
This devotional invites you to reflect on food and hunger as a spiritual practice. What do you hunger for? What feeds your soul? How do you feed others? Every meal and every table can provide an opportunity to grow in faith.
A study guide for in-person or online groups is included.
The cost of the book is $19.95 tax included,(shipping charges extra). To order please contact Leona at llaundry@united-church.ca or 709-399-0834. Deadline to order is January 19, 2026.

Sacraments Elder
The Pastoral Relations Committee of the Region is working toward enacting procedures to support the licensing of Sacrament Elders in communities of faith where there is a need. Those Communities of Faith who feel they have a need for a Sacrament Elder are encouraged to review the handbook, Sacraments Elder and begin to consider who may be a suitable candidate from their Community of Faith.
Early in the New Year, the Pastoral Relations Committee will offer two 2-hour online sessions (baptism and communion) for those who may be open to the possibility of serving as a Sacraments Elder for their Pastoral Charge. Participation in both sessions will be required for anyone considering serving as a Sacraments Elder.
