Condolences: Ronald Porter 

Condolences are extended to the family of Rev. Ronald ‘Ron’ Porter who passed away on June 6, 2022.  The obituary will be provided when available. There will not be a Celebration of Life, his family will be scattering Rev. Porter’s ashes at a later date.

Annual Meeting Resources

Dear members of Regional Council,

It was wonderful to see you this weekend. Rural Routes Through the Holy:  Thrive Where You Are  – Registration closing June 12th.

If you haven’t yet got your registration in, now’s the time.  Registration for this year’s Rural Routes gathering will close this Sunday.  We’re so excited to host this gathering  from June 16 – 18, 2022 and grateful for financial support from both the Regional and National UCC.  We’ll gather at CampTa Wa Si, Johnston Point, NB for a time full of worship, learning, conversation, resources and good food, to enliven and nurture the life of rural congregations.  (Proof of vaccination is required).  You can read a much fuller description (including schedule, speaker, taster presentations and Covid precautions) and/or register by visiting here and hovering over Rural Ministries for the drop down menu .  If you’re having trouble finding accommodation or have questions about registration please email or call 506-536-0216.

Need for Head Chef – Berwick Camp 2022

The United Church Camp Meeting Association, (Berwick Camp ) is looking for a head chef, from July 27th -August 7th.  Meals begin on Friday July 27 with the supper meal, then three meals per day-breakfast, dinner, supper, from July 28th to August 6th, two meals on Sunday, August 7th-breakfast and dinner.  Each day will begin by 7 a.m. and conclude with the evening meal by 6-6:30 p.m.

The head chef will work in cooperation with and direct four paid staff—a baker (already arranged) a support chef and two other workers to prepare, cook and have meals ready to serve, plus cleanup each day.  There is also a need to fill the three positions, not including the baker.  The head chef will work with the Food Services managers to prepare a menu by the end of June for these meals.  Volunteers will assist with some food preparation and serving of meals to the dining hall staff who will serve the tables.  Other youth volunteers will do clean up of dishes and cutlery after each meal.

Compensation will be offered through consultation with the Food Services Managers and the Camp Treasurer.  For further information, please contact Brian Delong, 1- 506-363-2360, by June 8th.
