Annual Meeting Evaluation Form
We would ask everyone who attended the Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council annual meeting to take a few minutes to fill out the online evaluation form by June 9.
Hello from President Elizabeth
Hello Friends,
I want to take this opportunity to say hello as your President of Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Region. I am delighted to serve in this capacity. Thank you.
On Pentecost Sunday we had a wonderful Spirit filled worship to celebrate our ministries – including my installation as President. Thank you.
A bit about Elizabeth… I live in Kingston, NB 40 minutes outside Saint John with my spouse David Storey. Coming and going, I have the delightful experience of a river cruise crossing the Kennebecasis River as a ferry system is part of our highway.
Together we have eight children, eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Life is abundant. They keep me abreast of life beyond my generation.
My roots are grounded in PEI where I grew up on a family farm, learning first hand to appreciate the wonder and complexity of Creation.
In 1995, I left a career in the sciences to respond to the call to ordained ministry, returned to studies and was ordained in 2001.
The United Church has been my church home throughout my life. As such, a church life offers numerous opportunities to live out my passion for justice and equity. Church life offers a place to walk with Spirit and wonderful people like you who continue to nurture and challenge me.
I returned from that Pentecost Sunday with my cup overflowing. Upon return home, I heard the news that my daughter’s home in Upper Tantallon, NS was under risk of a wildfire.
How quickly life can change. From the mountains to the valleys. From great delight to fear.
Such is our life. It happens sometimes over months, often in minutes. Throughout it all, we are not alone. That Pentecost Spirit offers courage and comfort.
So far, my daughter’s home is safe. Not so for many. Please continue to hold in light all those impacted – homes gone, homes under threat, displaced families and animals, firefighters and first responders.
May they receive all they need.
In peace,
Elizabeth
