We mourn and acknowledge….
With aching hearts we will continue to mourn and remember with our Indigenous friends, neighbours, and relatives touched by the 215 children’s remains found, and those not yet found.
It is common to want to rush to “do something”, to fix and make better. An Elder from the Indigenous Ministries and Justice in the United Church says, “We understand the desire to do ‘something’ that will make this right. But we ask you, right now, to come together as people of the United Church and take the first step of mourning and remembering. ”
So for now, let’s tie ribbons, light candles, sing and pray, make offerings…and keep our hearts open, be present to the pain, and let it change us. (Reflection and prayers on UCC website)
And when the time is right, check for actions you can take to support Indigenous communities and continue working to dismantle our inherent racism in our Regions.

Annual Meeting Information Webinars
Planning is well underway for the 3rd Annual Meeting of Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council, being held on June 4-5,and 14, 2021. In preparation for the Annual Meeting, the Executive is offering three webinars so that members are able to ask questions for clarification about the matters that we will be voting on at the meeting. You will also have the opportunity to hear from the nominees for commissioners to General Council and President-Elect, so you are familiar with those whose names will be presented for voting.
It will help all of us have a productive meeting in June to have as many people as possible take part in the webinars. Thank you for your commitment to this United Church of ours and to your Regional Council. As more information becomes available, it will be posted on the website. In preparation for the webinars and the Annual Meeting, please take the time to read the posted material, including the Agenda, accessed using the link: Annual Meeting 2021

Vacancies
Wilmot United Church, Fredericton, New Brunswick is seeking 2 new ministers (due to retirements), 1 full-time and 1 part-time, to continue God’s work with our downtown Affirming congregation. Fredericton is the capital of New Brunswick, located in the beautiful Saint John River Valley about an hour’s drive from the Bay of Fundy. We have two universities, a community college, an arts and craft school and excellent cultural, sports and health care facilities and the great outdoors is on our doorstep. This is a dynamic and affordable city in which to live!
Our ideal candidates will be excited to work in a team ministry comprising of a 1FTE and a 0.5 FTE. We are seeking ordained or diaconal ministers. We recently completed an extensive visioning process for our congregation. We are excited about embarking on expanding our understanding of being a downtown church that is faithful to God’s call to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with one another. It is our hope to find ministers who will share our enthusiasm. Read further details here.
